Silent Starts, Blistering Performance in the Upgraded 2018 Ford Mustang

Recently, we learned that EcoBoost models of the updated 2018 Ford Mustang will be getting line-lock standard—making burning rubber the norm. But what special features will be offered on the range-topping GT? There’s plenty of good news there, as not only has this coupe gotten more powerful, but quieter—when needed.

Given that the growl of the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is something of a hallmark among Mustang GT fans, this might confuse some. Thanks to a new Active Valve Performance Exhaust, you can engage Quiet Exhaust through the infotainment screen for 72 decibels versus that peak snarl. It won’t wake the neighbors, and you can schedule it as needed. That’s fine, especially for those who opt for the Mustang GT packing the Performance Package and ten-speed automatic transmission. With 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, the V8-powered coupe hits sixty in under four seconds, and offers a Drag Strip mode that provides peak torque and horsepower through the whole rev range, and tunes the MagneRide damping for better rear axle traction.

To put your name down to test drive the new Mustang GT, contact our sales team at our Ford dealership in Bay City, MI to show your interest. When it arrives in the autumn, we’ll call you for your test drive.
