Ford Australia Teases 2018 Ranger Raptor, Leaves America with Questions

Earlier this month, Ford Australia released footage of the prototype Ranger Raptor, and left American off-road enthusiasts more intrigued than ever.

The Ford Ranger is something of an enigma already—it is officially scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. in 2019, but Ford still won't tell us whether it will be the same Ranger model currently sold in the rest of the world, or a brand-new platform. Now Australia has revealed it's got a Ranger Raptor in the works for 2018, and Bay City drivers want to know if they'll be able to get in on the action, too!

Here in Michigan, serious off-roading enthusiasts can order the F-150 Raptor—Ford Performance's top-of-the-line trail running truck. It has an interior made for luxury and a smooth highway ride, and it's capable of high-speed action over difficult terrain. The mid-size Ranger Raptor will presumably offer a similar build, in a smaller size class, but so far all we can do is re-watch the videos and hope.
